AMAN LAUNCHES A CONTEST FOR THE BEST PAINTING ABOUT CHILD SAFETY
Protection and social Rehabilitation center (AMAN), as a part of Qatar Foundation for Social Work, launched a competition entitled "Child is a trust" for the best painting art work, in coordination with the celebration of the Gulf Children's Day in cooperation with the Visual Arts Center in the Ministry of Culture and Sports.
The competition includes the school's students and professionals, In this context and As an annual celebration of this day, Aman center has published through its accounts on social networking sites messages call for the Gulf child safety, that emphasizes the importance of family cohesion and tolerance, and to avoid the child away from any negative effects of crises and conflicts, which is the same path followed by the Civil society in Qatar alongside the rest of the States sectors.
The contest Goal and the jury
The competition aims to raise awareness of the importance of childhood in the family and society and to promote a culture of social peace by motivating individuals to design their creations that mimic the theme of childhood especially that Aman Center will republish these paintings in campaigns and awareness activities.
Professional juries will evaluate according to an evaluation form for each category set by the Visual Arts Center in accordance with the award committee of Aman Center, and the aim of the competition to launch the freedom of artistic expression and creativity to the competitors in order to collect the largest number of drawings on the subject, and to give the chance for the largest possible number of individuals (professionals or amateurs).
Competition Details:
The professional competition is open to all Qataris /residents amateurs and professionals starting with the age of 18 years and above.
The submitted drawings shall reflect the vision of the participant in the subject of drawing,
and each participant shall participate in with one Artwork only,
with the right to choose the used material freely,
the artwork size is 100 X CMV.
The participant does not have the right to add name or his signature on the drawing.
The Contest Committee will submit a poster to each participant, which he will fill in his information. The registration will be at the Visual Arts Center in Katara Village from 9:00 Am to 1:00 pm on January 13-17, registrations will not be accepted after the registration deadline date, and the participant must submit his paintings in at the visual arts center or his participation would be canceled.
Aman Center will obtain the property rights of the winning Works. The Visual Arts Center will organize an exhibition of the winning works in Katara as well as it will publish a printed booklet with these works, the non-winning works will be delivered within one week after the end of the art exhibition for the participating works. If the co-artist decides to donate the artwork to Aman Center, this will be done through a contract between the parties. Each participant will receive a certificate of appreciation.
The student competition is open to all schools in the State of Qatar. The participation is should be with A4 size (297X 420) Artwork and the participation subject is "My childhood is safe." The student is entitled to use any technical tools for drawing and coloring such as lead, wax or water colors. the child is authorized to participate through the Art Education Department in the school, and the management of the school shall collect the Artworks and send to the visual arts Center and the registration application to be attached to each artwork, and the maximum number of participants for each school is 20 Artwork for each grade.
The artistic work shall be made by the student himself. The organizing body is entitled to use or publish any work of art that it deems fit with the name of the winning student. The competition will be announced on the fifteenth of January and the last date for receiving the participation in the twentieth of February. The decision of the jury is final and cannot be appealed.
The exhibition of works will be held by the Visual Arts Center in Katara Village.
Winners Awards
The award management offered prizes to the winners, where the first winner at the professional contest will receive a certificate of appreciation and Ten thousand riyals,
the second winner of the certificate of appreciation and Seven thousand riyals, the third certificate of appreciation and ten Five riyals,
and the Students contest First winner will receive a certificate of appreciation and five thousand riyals,
the second winner of the certificate of appreciation and Three thousand riyals, the third Winner a certificate of appreciation and Two riyals, and the Fourth winner will receive a certificate of appreciation and a thousand riyals, in addition to a number of encouragement awards for the Other positions.
About Gulf Children's Day:
The Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries celebrate the 15th of January each year in several institutions in the GCC countries, where recreational and educational activities are held for the child with a focus on instilling concepts and standards that stem from the traditions of the Gulf society. And urges the adherence to the identity of the Gulf, and spread the culture of rights and community, which will promote the rights of children and avoid violence practices that effect on their innocence, in support of the Convention on the Rights of the Child adopted by the General Assembly of the United Nations in 1989, and ratified by the State of Qatar and many of the developed world.
